Dear Diary,



My newest outfit is here. It's called "Autumn Walk". There are plaid, woollen trousers, a woollen coat and scarf and a lovely long-sleeve "silk" shirt. It is a great outfit, but as with the first new outfit, the trousers are much too tight and I can't walk or sit!





But, I don't mind too much. It's a small price to pay to be fashionable!




We are eagerly awaiting the release of the new boy doll clothes from the Kathe Kruse company.

Dear Diary, Jesse :   About 25 years ago, in the age of paper books, I read a story about a famous woman and her boy doll.  I was totally taken with the story and I never forgot it.  In fact, it was to have a huge influence on my doll play and collecting. A couple of years ago, I was thinking about the story and I wanted to find it again.  As advancing age and retreating memory does, I couldn't remember any names and I had many of the details mixed up and incorrect.  I remembered the basic story, however, so armed with sparse information, I began the current age Google Search.  It was a hard slog, going down many dead-ends because of my incorrect remembrance of facts and the scarcity of factual information.  I refused to give up and I kept trying all kinds of combinations of information until, at last I found what I was looking for.  Eureka!  This is an abbreviate story about Joe Corsairs and Lord Tod Wadley.  (The information is taken from various internet sites.) Berets for days

Dear Diary, I wear a beret because mein Vati wears one. Well, he has more than one: French, Basque, Italian, Spanish, Czech/Slovak.  The are all pretty much the same, some are smaller than others or are made of thicker fulled (felted) wool.  Berets are traditionally black but they do appear in colours from time to time.  Archeology has shown that hats similar to the beret were worn in the Bronze Age.  What we know today as the "French" and "Spanish" beret come from the south of France in the province of Béarn and the Basque country in Spain. An oil painting dated 1929 from Slovakia.  Vati purchased this and it's on its way here now. ⭐HOW TO WEAR A BERET⭐ Size is important but more important is how it's worn on the head and how it's shaped.  It can be worn pushed forward (farmer style): Or sitting centered on the head: Or pushed to one side or the other: Vati's favourite photo of beret wearers.

Dolls & lizards?

Dear Diary, I found this young man, Raymond, a doll collector in Hawai'i.  He has a big collection of modern dolls to show us. I think he is a good role model for other young lads who are interested in dolls. He certainly is proud of his collection. I never knew about all these different modern dolls!
