Jesse: I want to share this photo of the boys. 

It's not always easy to get them to sit still together for a photograph.  I like this photo because it gives a peek into each doll's unique personality.

Dear Diary, Jesse :   About 25 years ago, in the age of paper books, I read a story about a famous woman and her boy doll.  I was totally taken with the story and I never forgot it.  In fact, it was to have a huge influence on my doll play and collecting. A couple of years ago, I was thinking about the story and I wanted to find it again.  As advancing age and retreating memory does, I couldn't remember any names and I had many of the details mixed up and incorrect.  I remembered the basic story, however, so armed with sparse information, I began the current age Google Search.  It was a hard slog, going down many dead-ends because of my incorrect remembrance of facts and the scarcity of factual information.  I refused to give up and I kept trying all kinds of combinations of information until, at last I found what I was looking for.  Eureka!  This is an abbreviate story about Joe Corsairs and Lord Tod Wadley.  (The information i...

Dear Diary, Jesse:  Beware of temptation - it's always waiting around the corner to ambush a person.  No matter how strong the resolve to not buy another doll, here it goes again! While cruising on Pinterest where I thought I'd be safe, looking at Kathe Kruse dolls, I found one which interested me a lot. When I looked into it, I discovered that it was from an auction house and the doll was going up for auction in 30 days.  It seemed harmless enough and the opening bid was low enough, so I decided to watch it along with three other Kathe Kruse Deutsche Kind boy dolls.  Naturally, I thought that if he went at a reasonable price I'd bid and maybe win him.  I should have determined then what a "reasonable price" meant; the day of the auction I kept raising my reserve bid.  In the end, I won this doll for far more than I had ever planned to pay.
